The Baby Kicking!

Well, I don't have any cool photos to illustrate this post, only description. This past week was the first I really thought I was feeling our little baby kick. I've suspected it before but could never tell with all of the other strange changes in my body and weird digestive moods. On Thursday I had my day off and was doing something seated on the couch, very relaxed. I felt a few bumps from the inside, very quiet and small, and thought they must be the baby because nothing else could have caused them. It was an exciting revelation for me because there aren't too many outward signs yet that a baby is growing. Sometimes I look for that little reminder that there really is something there and I'm not just imagining. 18 weeks! Crazy. We go to the doctor this week and then will schedule another visit two weeks later to find out the gender. Wahoo!

It is an amazing experience to have such a percious spirit rely so wholly on you. And to think you and Eric created it. Everything else we create (even how beautiful and great it is) pales when comapred with children.

Our Fairy Tale

Our Fairy Tale
Happily Ever After Begins Now

How It All Began...

He was a popular swing dancer; she spent her time doing art. Little did they know that a chance meeting in a college racquetball class was only the first of many times their paths would cross. As circumstance would have it, they were only good friends at the beginning. He went his way and she went hers, pushing toward some landmark in the distance, some dream of the future. There was trial and error, success and disappointment, learning and growth. When the dust finally settled they were amazed to find their sights had led them to the same spot. Who can say why the long road or how it all happened? Who can tell if any of the “what ifs” could compare with the present? Or even the future? No one but an all-seeing architect who created the plans long ago. What lies in store for two so heaven-matched? Nothing short of long-awaited hopes coming true and far surpassing expectation.
